Internationally renowned sculptor Karin Van Ommeren will exhibit new work she has produced in her studio space near Pietrasanta at a gallery in Oisterwijk, Holland. Karin is one of the many sculptors from all over the world, who come every year to the Pietrasanta area to work in stone. She says her new work is inspired by the landscape of the quarries in Carrara, where for the last 2000 years man has molded nature in dramatic ways. Karin works in granite; some is highly polished, some left roughhewn. The forms are pure, elemental, timeless – they speak of inner states and evoke eternity.
