This Saturday the 23rd of April sees the opening of Galaxia Medicea’s third edition. The Festival of visual arts and contemporary music will celebrate the life and work of Bruno Munari, one of Italy’s greatest visual artists and designers of the last century. The exhibition which lasts until May 29th 2011, will follow the path of the artistic production which took shape in the 50’s, and is dedicated to the experimentation with light and sound. Keep an eye out for lots of art and music to happen throughout the summer, at the Palazzo Mediceo in Seravezza, a charming town which rises at the confluence of the rivers Sera and Vezza in the Marble quarry region of Italy, not far from Carrara and Pietrasanta.
The Festival’s website will have updates of the various events. As of yet, there’s concerts scheduled for June 24 and 25 featuring music from AUCAN, TYING TIFFANY, BEATRICE ANTOLINI, and PORT ROYAL.
Stars of the opening reception on the 23rd of April… this Saturday
are the Roman musician Okapi and the local artist Massimiliano Pelletti.
All events are free and open to the public.
Galaxia Medicea rocks the art and music worlds, and all those dimensions where the two collide.
