With “Anteprime 2012” – the “Citta d’Arte” becomes City of Books!

Pietrasanta’s “Let me tell you my next book” festival starts next Friday, June the 8th and goes to Sunday. Anteprime means “world-premiere” and there’s plenty of premieres here. The event brings authors and their new books to the people, in the Piazza (and other venues in the city.) It’s a chance to hear first-hand authors presenting their new projects or discussing their creative process, and for them to interact with the public. Last year’s festival was a runaway success bringing the voices of the writer, of the poet, and the controvert – and … music from bestselling authors to the Piazza. The event is produced by the City of Pietrasanta together with publishers: Einaudi, Electa, Frassinelli, Mondadori, Piemme e Sperling & Kupfer.

In what’s described in the press as an ‘exceptional encounter’ Margaret Mazzantini and Sergio Castellitto will kick of the 3-day book bonanza. For details, click on the program above to enlarge. Guests include: Michela Murgia, Moni Ovadia, and
on Saturday: Ramin Bahrami, Daria Bignardi, Achille Bonito Oliva and Andrea Cortellessa, Sveva Casati Modignani, Ascanio Celestini, Paolo Giordano, Joe R. Lansdale, Eugenio Scalfari, Salvatore Settis, and the amazing Lina Wertmueller.
David Grossman and Noa,
and Rocco Papaleo close the book festival on Sunday.
We link to the festival site – stay tuned as the event is known to take pleasantly unexpected turns.
