“Gli ultimi calafati di Viareggio” Giovanni Nardini’s photography exhibit on the seaside town’s “last” shipyard workers docks at the Villa Gori until the 15th of September

Far from the spotlights of Viareggio’s yacht building yards Giovanni Nardini focuses his camera on the “ultimi calafati” the last workers who fix, restore and rebuild the old wooden hulls of the local fishing boats and sailboats. The series of photographs – striking black and white images of life on Viareggio’s waterfront – which make up “Gli ultimi calafati di Viareggio” is collected in a book of the same name, published by Pezzini Editore.

The photography exhibition continues at the Villa Gori in Massarosa until the 15th of September, 2012.
