The second edition of Carrara’s “DATABASE” features art in the Marble City’s art galleries, public spaces and marble quarries

Santiago-Morilla-Carrara-Database-2013

“DATABASE” launches its second edition – and it’s an epic event by all measures: solo shows, group exhibitions, performances, workshops, artists-in-residence programs, site-specific projects, encounters with the artists, educational outreach programs and even a film festival will bring to Carrara numerous national and international artists, who will open a dialog with the City of Marble, and the surrounding territory, and will address the city’s historic ties to art.

The first event of Santiago Morilla’s “INDEX FALLS” project, was held last weekend in one of the marble quarries above the city, and kicked off this edition of  “DATABASE.” It featured projections of silhouettes of people falling on the old quarry walls. Morilla will have a solo exhibition starting May, 25th 2013, at the Museo Civico del Marmo – the city’s marble museum.
