Yves Dana exhibits his hieratic sculptures at Flora Bigai artecontemporanea in Pietrasanta

The Swiss artist Yves Dana exhibits 16 sculptures at the Flora Bigai artecontemporanea gallery, in Pietrasanta, until June 6th. The artist uses bronze and various stones, like basalt and diabase – his is a research of pure essential forms, inspired by a trip the artist took to his native Egypt in 1996. The works, which rise like stele from some ancient desert, seem eroded by the wind, they are dense, archetypical and essential in their simplified complexities. Dana makes archaic – hieratic – forms, both vertical and horizontal that speak not to memories of a biographic narrative, but to a universal and transcendental story.
