In past months Damien Hirst has
unceremoniously daringly dumped his gallerists and has boldly focused the Corporation on finding New Clients and New Markets on its own. … the online retailer Amazon meanwhile, has just started selling fine-art to bring the excitement and emotional connection of art to its customers (some 40,000 works are available to buy online – there’s important works at important prices.)
The Universe apparently does meet itself half-way:
Hirst’s “Beautiful Magnificent Stand and Deliver Painting, (With Diamonds)” from 2007, which measures 36 Beautiful inches by 36 Magnificent Inches is available for sale on the Amazon site, for $500,000 … the “Diamonds” are Cubic Zirconia, but the site promises to Stand and Deliver the spin-painting … for free.
