Magilla’s exhibition at the Mad Gallery in Viareggio traces the mystery of fate, and the stars, and the relationship between the human and the eternal

Strange lights appear in a sea of black – Magilla, an artist who works in various media, such as painting, illustration and comics – pinpoints familiar, and less familiar shapes cast in the skies in ancient days. The constellations – australis and borealis – appear side by side with other works depicting human figures, some sinking into primordial swamps, some cut open and bleeding.

The Mad Gallery in Viareggio hosts a One-Person-Show of the artists’ works until the 13th of October.

The opening reception is this Sunday, the 29th of September at 6pm. There will be live music, and the artist will be present.

The paintings reproduced here, of the Costellations of Sculptor, Ophincus and Cassiopeia, are from the artist’s fanpage on fb, linked here.
