“Allegories” – Valerio Adami, noted Italian painter, holds retrospective exhibit at the Museo d’Arte of Ravenna

Valerio Adami exhibits “Allegories” in a major retrospective at the Museo d’Arte della Citta di Ravenna, from the 13th of October to the 8th of December, 2013.

One of the major artists of Italy’s post-war period, the Bologna-born artist has explored many avenues of expression, starting in his youth with work that bore the influence of expressionists, such as Bacon, and then winding through a more graphic Pop Art style with bold flat colors, devoid of chiaroscuro … sometimes reminiscent of the graphic marks found in comic book art.

The opening reception is Saturday, the 12th of October, 2013, at 6pm.
