“Ritratti di Donne” (Portaits of Women) is the title of another ongoing exhibition at Seravezza Fotografia 2014. The photographs of Silvia Amodio and of Ugo Panella chronicle the feminine… through different lenses. Silvia Amodio chooses to celebrate womanhood through a series of ethereal portraits of women photographed in the studio, while Ugo Panella’s photos document the lives of women in Kabul.
While Silvia Amodio’s photos exude a beauty and an empathy towards her subjects Ugo Panella focuses on a “geography of suffering” – which he claims, is not a dead-end, but rather a description of a space where everything is still possible.
