Andrea Sampaolo, a young local artist spent some time in Miami, and the experience lingers in his current work. “RE-LIFE” is his homage to the area’s marble traditions, in the form of paintings – some using pigments and actual Marble-Quarry debris.
Sampaolo brings a street-art aesthetic to his work, the paint is often sprayed-on, on canvas and on thin sheets of marble. “RE-LIFE” was produced within the Laboratorio Creativo of the Department of Culture of the Comune of Forte dei Marmi, with the Fondazione Villa Bertelli, and INSIDEART, and by the BeenGreen group which promotes investment in the green economy and a re-qualification of the marble quarrying region. The exhibition will be accompanied by soundworks from Barbara Eramo and Stefano Saletti.
The opening reception is this Saturday, the 12th of April, 2014 at 6pm.
