It’s the first time that the fabled Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, home of the city’s famous tower, will host an exhibition of contemporary art. This first is a one-person show of Angels, by the famous Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj. The Polish artist known for his monumental sculptures of dreamlike fragnments of figures inspired by classical antiquity, will also exhibit a series of paintings.
The exhibition is part of Pisa’s celebration of the 950th Anniversary of the laying of the first brick of its main Cathedral.
Since 1983 the sculptor has held a studio in Pietrasanta.
