“I Libri invadono la città” returns to the City of Art, this weekend – the 24th and 25th of May, 2014.
Starting at 4pm the volunteer readers will read for all interested listeners in the streets and exhibition spaces of Pietrasanta. And the event is looking for volunteer readers!
On Saturday the 24th the event will continue into the night – with volunteers reading in their pajamas, under the moonlight.
There’s an exhibition at the Sala Grasce, featuring book-sculptures: “La Biblioteca Immaginaria di Rabelais” (Rabelais’ Imaginary Library), curated by the association Altr’e20, showcases works inspired by Gargantua and Pantagruel. The exhibition will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 12:30pm and then again from 5 to 7:30pm.
There will be a special reading at the Museo dei Bozzetti – in the complex of Sant’Agostino, in front of the models of the sculptures of Henry Marinsky – sculptures featuring characters from Lewis Carroll’ “Alice in Wonderland” which are now at the Museum of Outdoor Arts in Colorado. The special reading of works by Carroll will take place Sunday, the 25th of May from 4pm.
The event is produced by the Assessorato alle Pari Opportunità and the Assessorato alla Cultura of the City of Pietrasanta, in collaboration with Stefania and Alessandra from the bookshop “La Noce a Tre Canti.”
To volunteer to read you can contact the organizers at 0584 70433 or email them at email@example.com. The event is FREE and open to everyone!
