“Anteprime 2014,” Pietrasanta’s festival of authors and their books this year comes to the La Versiliana, the opening is today, Friday the 4th of July

This year’s “Anteprime” festival of books returns with a change of venue: instead of filling to capacity with avid book-lovers Pietrasanta’s main square, the 3-day event happens at La Versiliana, in Marina di Pietrasanta.

Friday the 4th… today, starting at 6:30pm there’s lots to see and hear: at the Arena, Oliviero Beha entertains the young ones, Patrizio Olive is at the Fabbrica dei Pinoli, David Grossman is at the Spazio Caffé.

Then a change of stages… at 8pm Federica Bosco entertains at the Arena, the great Italian cartoonist Vauro is at the Theater, and Maurizio de Giovanni is at the Spazio Caffé.

There’s lots more; many other authors and events are planned for the weekend. See the full program below.

For children aged 4 to 10, starting at 5:30, and at 6:30pm there’s workshops led by Silvia Bonanni.

The “Anteprime” event is sponsored by the Comune di Pietrasanta, the Fondazione La Versiliana, and the Mondadori Publishing Group: Einaudi, Electa, Frassinelli, Piemme, Sperling & Kupfer.

All events are FREE and open to the public; the city is providing shuttle-bus service from Via Leopardi.
