Figures, interior scenes, still lives, and architectural spaces make up Antonio Nunziante’s “Antologia della Pittura” his one-person exhibition at the Palazzo Panichi, in Pietrasanta.
The exhibition takes into account how paintings are born… and so preparatory drawings, photographs – and objects – are exhibited alongside the paintings. The viewer gets a behind-the-scenes- peek at the artist’s creative process.
Nunziante addresses the problems of figurative art – his works are contemporary yet they are grounded in a knowledge of the old masters. Luca Beatrice, the curator writes about Nunziante’s approach in the press materials: “His painting could appear as an interior projection, nostalgically anchored in a distant past, yet his attitude is that of a man of our times, curious of all technological innovation.”
