Over 100 paintings and drawings, spanning figuration and abstraction, twenty sculptures in various materials – and 85 drawings, most of them never-before exhibited – make up “Franco Miozzo, La Potenza e il Mistero dell’Arte,” (Franco Miozzo, the Power and Mystery of Art) the biggest retrospective dedicated to the work of the Italian artist (1917 – 1996) who made Pietrasanta the home of his creative endeavors.
“An event for the city of Pietrasanta which welcomed the artist as a young man, ” explains the Mayor, Domenico Lombardi, “the exhibition will be held in the Church of Sant’Agostino and in the Chiostro, from October 4th to December 8th. The artist’s family has personally followed the project, as has the Assessorato alla Cultura.”
The opening reception is this Saturday, the 4th of October, 2014 at 5pm.
A 200-page catalog, featuring an essay by Lodovico Gierut and produced by Petrartedizioni, will be unveiled at the opening.
