Banksy served his own take on Warhol and pop art at MoMA – “buon appetito!”

In 2005, the artist known as Banksy hung four of his own artworks into four major NY museums. He hung his “Discount Soup Can” on a hallway wall in the Museum of Modern Art, and it lasted 6 days. Banksy states in his book “Wall and Piece:”

After sticking up the picture I took five minutes to watch what happened next. A sea of people walked up, stared and moved on, looking confused and slightly cheated. I felt like a true modern artist.”

A signed Artist’s Proof of the above work goes for approx 8,500.00 pounds.
