Helga Vockenhuber’s monumental bronze sculptures go on show in Pietrasanta’s Piazza and Sant’Agostino Complex

The Austrian artist Helga Vockenhuber takes over the heart of Pietrasanta, the “City of Art” with “L’Anima Trovata” (the Found Soul) – an exhibition of monumental bronze sculptures. Her work focuses on over-sized figures in deep contemplative states, and on the beauty and purity of the form of flowers. Her bronze giants will take over the main Piazza and the exhibition spaces of the Church of Sant’Agostino, one of the most incredible gallery spaces anywhere. The artist has a long relationship with Pietrasanta’s bronze foundries and sculpture studios. The exhibition is curated by Giuseppe Cordoni, and sponsored by the Comune di Pietrasanta.

Visit the artist’s website linked here.

The opening reception is Saturday, the 19th of January, 2013 at 5pm.

We link to the Museo dei Bozzetti page on the exhibition, where you can see additional photos of the artist at work.
